As I sit here writing this, there’s approximately eight hours until NaNoWriMo starts. To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I’ve found a lovely writer’s group that meets twice a week during November. I’m really excited to get to write with them and share the sweat, blood, tears, and words that is NaNo. And I’m not the only college student in the group, so I’ll have support and a sympathetic ear when it comes to doing NaNo on top of homework, studying, and prepping for the ever-looming finals.
Plus, this NaNo is going to be very interesting. Right now, I’ve got three separate ideas vying for attention, so unless I can choose one over the other two, I’ll be flipping through three novels this November. It’s kind of funny, actually, because I’ve been in an “edit-all-the-things” mood recently and now I’m in a “write-all-the-things” mood.
The good side of the “edit-all-the-things” mood is that Crystal is almost ready to go. All that’s needed is editing and that’ll happen in December, so with any luck, Crystal should be published sometime in January. And if it isn’t, nag me incessantly because I’ve procrastinated on publishing that book for far too long. Really, I have.
After Crystal, I plan on taking a short break from the Anayldrisian world. Homesick and Inheritance, books 3 and 4, are both written, but I need to mull over them for a while. Especially Homesick. Of all the books I’ve written, it’s the one that’s giving me the most grief. I’ll still be writing, don’t get me wrong, but I’ll mostly likely be finishing up Cursed, Unwanted Gods, and Destinies Collide. All written and in need of revising. So there’s definitely some fun things in my future. I *might* even post some excepts as I revise.
Oh, and one last thing. Because Crystal is coming out soon, I’d like some more reviews for Starling. If you’d like to review it, shoot me an email and I’ll give you a copy in exchange for an honest review. Offer’s open now until Crystal is published. And I’m considering also offering the same deal for Crystal, so definitely let me know if you’re interested in that too.
That’s all for now! Happy Nano’ing! 🙂
